Laus Deo

There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.

I pray because I can’t help myself. I pray because I’m helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time- waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God- it changes me.

Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.

God has landed on this enemy-occupied world in human form…The perfect surrender and humiliation was undergone by Christ: perfect because He was God, surrender and humiliation because He was man.

Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done…

God will look to every soul like its first love because He is its first love.
